This monograph examines the protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms and the limits of derogation from obligations during the application of a special regime of criminal proceedings under martial law in Ukraine. It analyzes international and European standards for the protection of human rights in emergency situations. The study assesses whether Ukrainian legislation and law enforcement practices conform to international and European standards regarding the protection of human rights in emergencies, particularly with respect to upholding the rule of law. The work also puts forward proposals for improving Ukrainian legislation and law enforcement practices to ensure compliance with standards for the protection of human rights in emergency situations.
